Alexander’s barbershop is based in the town centre of Hereford. The company has been established for 8 years and they have a friendly busy team of six.
They are looking for a person who is passionate about barbering, dreaming of mastering their skills and running their own chair eventually.
The role:
You will learn from experienced barbers, shadow their techniques, and become a master in the trade. As a crucial member of the team, you will assist with maintaining the barbershop’s pristine environment, utilise the online booking system, and greet clients with a warm and friendly manner.
In addition, as part of your apprenticeship, you will attend college on Mondays to compete a barbering qualification. This comprehensive training will complement your hands-on experience and further enhance your expertise in the field.
To learn the skills of barbering, your qualification at college will train you to:
- Learn to cut hair using barbering techniques
- Learn to cut facial hair into shape
- Learn to style men’s hair
- Learn shaving skills
- Learn how a barbers shop is run
- Learn reception duties
- Learn how to be a good team player
- To work in a friendly busy environment

- GCSE maths and English at grade 4 or above desirable but will be part of qualification if not already achieved

Reality check:
- Please be aware that you will be on your feet for long periods of time and will be expected to work a Saturday.
