Bullock Joinery was established in 1983 and is a local Hereford business. They manufacture windows, doors, staircases, skirting, architrave and door linings for the construction industry and private clients.
The role:
- Machining and producing joinery items
- Assembling joinery
- Health & Safety in the workplace
- Keeping the workshop safe and in good condition
- Producing timber products using machines and hand tools
- Learning how to maintain the machinery and change tooling
Desired skills:
- Good eye for detail
- A good communicator
- Be able to work within a small team and individually
Desired personal qualities:
- Reliable
- Positive can-do attitude
- A thirst for knowledge of the timber trades industry
- Punctual
- Clean and tidy in appearance
Qualifications:
- Level 1 qualification in Carpentry and Joinery or at least 12 months experience within industry
- GCSE English and maths at grade 4 or above is desirable
Future prospects?
- For the right candidate and successful completion of this apprenticeship, the position will become permanent.
Reality check:
- You will be working in a busy workshop which at times can be noisy, but all the required PPE will be supplied. There will be long periods of time when you will be standing at your bench producing wood manufactured items.
