Established in 1946, Gloucester Street Forge Ltd is a small local family run Blacksmithing and Fabrication business based in Stroud, Gloucestershire. An exciting opportunity has arisen for an apprentice to join their team.
The role:
- Work from drawings and sketches
- Learn to weld
- Learn how to use all machinery in the workshop
- Work on an open forge
- Fabricate gates and staircases
- Work on site, both domestic and commercial
Desired skills:
- Attention to detail
- Keep to a high standard of Health and Safety
- Problem solving

- Enthusiasm to learn

- Excellent time keeping

- Good physical fitness
Desired Qualifications:
- GCSE or equivalent in maths and English at grade 4/C
Future prospects?
- Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship this may lead into full time employment
Reality check:
- The company is a 15 minute walk from Stroud town centre and the bus and train station. There is a bus stop just outside on the road.
- Saturday morning work is optional
