PART-TIME COURSES
We will be looking at character descriptions, creating a setting, the Show Don’t Tell rule, effective endings and how to keep up the writing momentum. During each session, there will be time to share your work and ask for feedback if you wish.
Continue to explore your ideas and further develop your writing voice.
By the end of the course you can expect to be able to do the following:
Begun to develop your unique writing voice
Explored what kind of writing interests you
Considered and discussed how other writers express their ideas
Learned about some of the ways you might publish your work
About the Tutor:
Kate Long is the author of eight novels, including Sunday times number one bestseller The Bad Mother’s Handbook. Her domestic comedy-drama has been adapted for radio and television, and she has written for national newspapers and magazines such as the Telegraph, the Independent, BBC Wildlife, Best and Good Housekeeping.
You will need:
A notebook and writing pad, a pen or pencil that feels comfortable to work with.
The Tutor will supply:
Spare paper and pens, extracts from published writers, writing prompts
