This course consists of two modules Maintenance of the Chainsaw and On-site preparation and basic cross cutting. This course is a pre-requisite for all other short courses involving Chainsaw operation.
This course covers:
•Risk assessment and emergency procedures
•Routine operator maintenance of the chainsaw
•Round timber cross-cutting techniques of pre-cut timber up to guide bar length
NPTC Level 2 Award in Chainsaw Maintenance and Cross Cutting
Following the course, candidates can progress onto the CS31, 32, 38 and 39

2 days plus additional 1/2 day for NPTC assessment. Time: 9.15am to 4.30pm Dates: 10th & 11th Oct 23; 5th & 6th Dec 23; 23rd & 24th Jan 24; 19th & 2oth March 24; 15th & 16th April 24; 6th & 7th May 24; 3rd & 4th June 24.
Takes place at our Holme Lacy Campus

Following the course, candidates will be assessed for NPTC Award in Chainsaw Maintenance & cross Cutting. This is a practical assessment. Tests are organised separately by NPTC and can be taken at College or on you own site. Tests take place on a separate day, test date will be confirmed at the start of the course.
