This course will cover the basics of floral design with a focus on seasonal displays and these skills will enable you to adapt and create beautiful designs.
Week one: Front facing contemporary arrangement
Week two: Valentine’s Day heart arrangement
Week three: Triangular spring arrangement
Week four: Hand-tied bouquet in cellophane
Week five: Springtime posy
Please bring the following to every session of the course:
Secateurs floristry scissors
Gloves (optional)
In addition, for the first week, please bring:
A small container that will hold water
An oasis to fit in the container
Pot tape
A selection of flowers of your choice – about 20 stems, for example: lisianthus, roses, carnations, chrysanthemum, spray rose, gyp
Foliage: some longer stems and some bigger leaves would be helpful, for example: hard ruscus, rosemary, bay, ivy or whatever you can find in the garden.
For subsequent weeks, you will be issued in advance with a list of flowers and other materials to bring with you to the class each week. Please note, that the cost of these will be at your own expense.
You may like to do another floristry course at the college or progress onto the Floristry Skills course.
