About the course

This course will cover the basics of floral design with a focus on seasonal displays and these skills will enable you to adapt and create beautiful designs.

Week one: Front facing contemporary arrangement

Week two: Valentine’s Day heart arrangement

Week three: Triangular spring arrangement 

Week four: Hand-tied bouquet in cellophane

Week five: Springtime posy

Please bring the following to every session of the course:

Secateurs floristry scissors

Gloves (optional)

In addition, for the first week, please bring:

  • A small container that will hold water 

  • An oasis to fit in the container 

  • Pot tape 

  • A selection of flowers of your choice – about 20 stems, for example: lisianthus, roses, carnations, chrysanthemum, spray rose, gyp

  • Foliage: some longer stems and some bigger leaves would be helpful, for example: hard ruscus, rosemary, bay, ivy or whatever you can find in the garden. 

For subsequent weeks, you will be issued in advance with a list of flowers and other materials to bring with you to the class each week. Please note, that the cost of these will be at your own expense.
