This charge identified is applicable to learners aged 16-18 who qualify for funding. Learners aged 19+ will have to pay this charge and possibly tuition and exam fees. * Fees are chargeable each year and the fees quoted will be for the current year only, if the course is more than 1 year further fees will be due next year.
The purpose of this qualification is to develop the skills, attitudes and behaviours needed for learners to progress to further study and ultimately into employment. Through learning the basics of carpentry, bricklaying, plumbing, electrical installation and property maintenance, accompanied by skills in planning, time management and working with others, students develop personally and as tradespeople. The course is designed to be delivered in an applied way, delivering a good balance of practical, technical and life skills.
Gateway Entry Level 3 in Building and Construction
Continued learning at a higher level in construction or another sector. Further qualifications in brickwork, carpentry, building maintenance, plumbing or electrics are the most common choices of current students.
