Course Content
This course is for students with some experience of digital photography and the course aim is to provide students with an intermediate education in that field. The three field trips are key to student learning and development, and students will be requested to complete simple course assignments. The tutor has spent 23 years of his career in professional photography and has general and advanced photographic qualifications, as well as the City and Guilds 7407 teaching certificate and Certificate of Education.
Topics will include:
- How to “See” photographically
- Camera settings
- Image enhancement
- How to use light in digital photography
- Viewpoint and composition
- Landscape and architectural photography
- Portrait photography and posing
- Close up (macro) photography
Entry Requirements
The course develops and expands on the Basic Digital Photography Course, although it is not a prerequisite to have completed the basic course. The class will be structured to meet the needs of the majority of students. Students are invited to bring their camera for this course. It is preferable to bring one. This course is intended mainly for students who have digital cameras. However, if you only use a mobile phone for photography you are welcome to attend as long as you keep this in mind. We will work with your in-phone camera settings during the course as best we can.

- A4 notepad, pencil and pens
- Camera (or phone with camera) and instruction manual
- Digital Images (as and when requested)
Course Costs
Tuition Fee: £85.00 (this includes a charge for materials of £5.00)
Additional Costs: Entry costs for field trip venues in addition to the course fee. These will be payable on the door at your own expense.
