This IT Fundamentals course builds on the IT Essentials course to help you gain confidence and further your knowledge in using digital technology, however the content will be adapted to individual needs/experience and beginners are also welcome. You will explore practical topics such as managing devices, organising files, connecting to networks, and securing your digital environment. Alongside the in-person delivery and learning there are supplementary videos, activities and content which you can optionally engage with.

As a Cisco Networking Academy, the college offers a range of Cisco courses and modules. Cisco certification supports learning and career prospects. This course has an optional quiz for a recognised Cisco certificate and digital badge. There is no obligation to take the quiz.
After completing the IT Fundamentals course, you could progress onto our IT Mastery course or move onto one of our specialised short courses in cyber security, networking, or programming to expand your knowledge in a particular field.

There are no formal requirements. This course is suitable for those who have attended our IT Essentials course or who are already confident with IT basics, however the content will be adapted as far as possible to suit the individual levels of experience of the learners enrolled.
