Course Content
This introductory course is designed for the complete beginner who wishes to obtain basic skills in Spanish and to experience learning a new language. The emphasis is on the spoken language and on developing sufficient skills to be able to get by in simple everyday situations, such as:
· Buying drinks and food in a café or restaurant
· Greetings and formalities
· Shopping for food, clothes, etc.
· Travelling around
· Booking accommodation
· Using the telephone
· General conversation: weather, family, surroundings
Simple grammar and vocabulary will be acquired. The course will also focus on listening and reading skills as these constitute an integral part of the language learning process. A recommended course book will be used as a background to the course and optional homework will be set after each class.
Entry Requirements
This course is for people who have very little or no previous knowledge of the chosen language. No formal entry requirements are required.
