Estates Supervisor – Maternity Cover

About the Role:

 

Join us as an Estates Supervisor overseeing maintenance across our college campuses at Oswestry, Walford and Shrewsbury. Lead a dedicated team, with day-to-day responsibility for ensuring a safe, compliant, and well-maintained environment for students, staff, and visitors.

 

The successful applicant will be based at either our Walford or Oswestry campus, but the role will involve regular travel between sites (a private mileage allowance is claimable).

 

Main Responsibilities:

 

  • Lead the maintenance team, assigning jobs and ensuring the timely completion of tasks.
  • Oversee contractors working onsite, prioritise emergency repairs, and operate building cooling/heating and management systems.
  • Foster positive contractor relationships, facilitating quotes, visits, and maintenance.
  • Oversee Estates vehicles, coordinating repairs, maintenance, and safety inspections.
  • Ensure completion of internal checks and inspections as directed by the Estates and Compliance Manager.

 

Person Specification:

 

  • Essential: Hands-on experience of maintenance and repairs, safety compliance, contractor liaison, ability to operate estates systems, such as BMS and fire systems, and good IT proficiency.
  • Desirable: Relevant vocational qualification, team leader or supervisory experience, Health and Safety knowledge, experience of working in an educational setting.
  • Other: Valid driving license, able to travel to between sites and act as a key holder.
