Short Course Chainsaw Instructor

We are seeking to appoint a vocationally competent chainsaw operator from within the forestry/arboriculture industry to join our team of instructors in delivering a range of vocational short courses.  It is essential that applicants hold the relevant NPTC qualifications up to and including the course they would be instructing.  NPTC or Lantra registered assessor status is advantageous but not essential.  Experience of working within the industry is vital along with good foundations in health and safety and current industry best practice.  As an introduction to this role you will receive training in current industry practices, an opportunity to shadow one of our current instructors and a work based mentor to help you settle in to your position.

This role involves preparing candidates for assessment within a set timescale so the successful applicant will need to be efficient and motivated in supporting others to succeed.

The number of courses is dependent on demand but could be one to three courses a month.  The length of each course varies from 2 to 5 days.

HLNSC is committed to equality of opportunity, safeguarding including the Prevent Duty and promotes the welfare of all learners and expects all members of staff to share this commitment.
