You will develop the practical skills, knowledge and behaviours to help you take a step closer to working in the industry or further progression. You will gain knowledge in the basics of animal health, husbandry, welfare, behaviour and biology and will develop industry skills and behaviours.
Level 2 Technical Certificate in Animal Care.
Progression routes may include Level 2 in Animal Care & Management or equivalent qualifications. Level 2 or Level 3 apprenticeships.
Employment options may include animal care technician, assistant kennels or cattery technician, zoological collections assistant.

Four GCSEs at Grade 3 including English and maths, or suitable Level 1 qualification at merit grade, with Grade 3 in English and maths.
This charge identified is applicable to learners aged 16-18 who qualify for funding. Learners aged 19+ will have to pay this charge and possibly tuition and exam fees.
