SHORT COURSES
* Fees are chargeable each year and the fees quoted will be for the current year only, if the course is more than 1 year further fees will be due next year.
This course consists of two modules Maintenance of the Chainsaw and On-site preparation and basic cross–cutting. This course is a pre-requisite for all other short courses involving Chainsaw operation.
This course covers:
•Risk assessment and emergency procedures
•Routine operator maintenance of the chainsaw
•Round timber cross-cutting techniques of pre-cut timber up to guide bar length
NPTC Level 2 Award in Chainsaw Maintenance and Cross Cutting
Following the course, candidates can progress onto the CS31, 32, 38 and 39

Following the course, candidates will be assessed for NPTC Award in Chainsaw Maintenance & cross Cutting. This is a practical assessment. Tests are organised separately by NPTC and can be taken at College or on you own site. Tests take place on a separate day, test date will be confirmed at the start of the course.
