In Phase 1, you’ll take part in a four-week classroom-based course focused on the employability skills and professional behaviours valued by employers in the HGV and wider logistics sectors. During this stage, you’ll also complete your medical assessment, apply for your provisional HGV licence, and prepare for your theory test.
Phase 2 takes your learning on the road with expert practical driver training and testing for your Class 2, Category C HGV licence, giving you the qualifications and confidence to start your driving career – followed by a guaranteed interview with an employer.

This programme will give you the skills and qualifications to enter the industry as a HGV driver, alongside providing a guaranteed interview with an employer or agency in your area.
Upon successful completion, learners can:
· Start a career as a professional HGV driver, delivering goods locally or nationally.
· Progress to advanced driving qualifications, including Class 1 HGV licences or specialised transport roles.
· Enter logistics and warehouse management, using your employability, customer service, and operational skills.
· Move into further education, such as Level 3 Transport and Logistics qualifications, apprenticeships, or
industry-specific training.
Assessment combines classroom-based assignments with practical driver training. You’ll complete written tasks,projects, and workplace simulations to demonstrate your knowledge of transport, logistics, employability, andcustomer service. Practical skills are assessed through hands-on activities and scenario-based exercises.
Phase 2 focuses on driving, with your Class 2, Category C HGV licence awarded following successful practical testingand demonstration of safe vehicle operation, manoeuvring, and road safety skills.
