You will study A Level further mathematics in conjunction with A Level mathematics and, normally, two other A Level subjects. The Fast Track course attracts students who enjoy mathematics and are keen to extend their knowledge. Further maths takes many of the concepts met in A Level maths to a higher place. It is important to note that “Further” maths does not necessarily mean “harder” maths; many of the first year topics can be studied immediately by any student who has GCSE maths.
Some prestigious university courses will only accept on their Mathematics degree courses students with Further Mathematics qualifications.
