Students, staff, families and industry guests came together on Wednesday to celebrate achievement, dedication and success at the Holme Lacy College Awards Ceremony.
Guests were welcomed to the campus with a cupcake and refreshments, enjoying the sunshine on the lawn before making their way into the Orchard Block, which had been specially dressed for the occasion. The beautifully presented venue provided the perfect setting to recognise the hard work and accomplishments of students from across the college.
The ceremony was opened by Vice Principal Dr Jon Gill, who welcomed guests and reflected on another successful year for the college. Head of Campus Kate Stallard also addressed the audience, sharing memories and highlights from the past academic year and recognising the commitment shown by students throughout their studies.
Adding further inspiration to the afternoon was guest speaker Andrew Rowe, Chairman of BABA, who delivered an engaging and heartfelt speech. Drawing on his own career journey, Andrew shared valuable advice with students as they prepare to take their next steps.
One of the key messages from his speech centred on the importance of kindness and seizing opportunities. He recalled how a simple act of helping a stranger who was struggling with a gate led to an unexpected conversation and ultimately being offered a job on the spot. His story served as a powerful reminder that small actions can have a lasting impact and that opportunities often arise when least expected.
Throughout the ceremony, students were recognised for their academic achievements, personal development, commitment to their studies and contributions to college life. Awards highlighted the exceptional talent, resilience and determination demonstrated across a wide range of subject areas.
The event was a fitting celebration of another successful year at Holme Lacy College, with students, staff and guests coming together to acknowledge achievements and look forward to the exciting opportunities ahead.
