Yesterday, we had the honor of welcoming HRH The Duke of Edinburgh to Holme Lacy College where he was escorted around the college by the Principal, David Williams.
After his grand entrance via helicopter into the fields of Holme Lacy College, The Duke of Edinburgh visited our newly built Low Carbon Technology Training Centre where he engaged with the plumbing and engineering students as they worked on their projects. The Duke then went on to tour the farriery and blacksmithing facilities learning about the work that goes on within the forges. He had a particular interest in the artistic approach to blacksmithing.
After chatting with students from across the different curriculums at Holme Lacy and Uniformed Public and Protective Service Students from Herefordshire College, The Duke unveiled a plaque commemorating his visit to the College.
The Duke of Edinburgh’s visit created a real buzz amongst the College community and we are extremely proud of our students who represented the College with grace and decorum. You are all a real asset to HLNSC.
