M Group and Herefordshire College partnership creates new opportunities for construction students.
Herefordshire College is proud to be strengthening its partnership with M Group through the college’s Employer Patron Scheme, providing students with valuable industry insight, real-world learning experiences and career opportunities throughout the 2026/27 academic year.
As a leading infrastructure and construction services provider, M Group plays a vital role in delivering projects that support communities across the country. Through this partnership, students studying construction-related programmes will gain direct exposure to the skills, knowledge and professional standards required within the sector.
Kimberley Lawrence, Social Value and Communications Advisor at M Group, said:
“We’re delighted to be working with Herefordshire College and are excited to support students through this partnership. It’s a great opportunity to give young people a real insight into the construction and infrastructure industry, helping them explore the variety of careers available and what those roles look like in practice. We look forward to getting involved, sharing experiences and supporting learners throughout the year”.
The programme of activity includes guest speaking sessions for construction students, where M Group representatives will share their experiences of working within the industry. Students will learn about the range of projects undertaken by the business, career pathways into the sector, recruitment processes and the employability skills that employers value most.
Learners will have the opportunity to visit M Group and take part in employer-led workshops and live project activities. These experiences will allow students to engage with real business challenges, including project planning, coordination and operational decision-making, helping them understand how construction and infrastructure projects are delivered in practice.
The partnership will also include curriculum review activities, with M Group providing professional insight and feedback on the college’s construction provision from Entry Level through to Level 4. This collaboration will help ensure that course content remains aligned to industry expectations and future workforce needs.
Alongside these planned activities, M Group has committed to continuing its support for apprenticeships and exploring opportunities to establish supported internships for entry-level construction students. These opportunities will help create accessible pathways into employment and support learners in developing the skills and confidence needed for successful careers within the industry.
Rich Price, Curriculum Team Leader for Construction at Herefordshire College, said:
“Partnerships such as this are essential in helping students understand the realities of working within the construction and infrastructure sectors. M Group’s commitment to sharing expertise, supporting apprenticeships and helping shape our curriculum ensures our learners are developing the skills that employers need both now and in the future.”
Through this growing partnership, the college and M Group are helping to develop the next generation of construction professionals while strengthening the connection between education and industry across Herefordshire and the wider region.
