Meet your Music Technology Tutors

Meet your Music Technology tutors! Our tutors in all subject areas are highly qualified industry experts. Here we shine the spotlight on the Music Technology department at Herefordshire College.

Dan Armstrong – Level 3 Course Tutor, Lecturer

Dan has a music career spanning over 35 years! Dan began his journey studying both the L3, L4 & 5 BTEC courses. In addition, Dan has two top10 albums to his name, multiple production, playing credits and remixes artists such as UB40, Lulu and Sting to name but a few! Working globally in studios and live sound, Dan has also performed as a session player and as an artist in his own right, having played the BBC introducing stage on several occasions, as well as supporting 80’s bands such as The (Beautiful) South, China Crisis and Go West. Dan also releases music under his own name, and the electronic music group, AudioGenika.

Ceri Jones – Lecturer

Ceri has had a lifelong interest in and enjoyment of music. His live sound career started after graduating a Level 3 course in sound engineering in 2000. After qualifying, Ceri quickly established a name for himself providing high-quality mixes at front-of-house. Ceri has also been in original bands as well as working as a sound designer for a local games company. Ceri has also worked at festivals (including Glastonbury for 20 years) and has supported many artists at gigs, UK and European tours. Ceri is still active in the music industry as well as teaching at Herefordshire College.

Ryan Jordan – Lecturer

Ryan completed the Level 3 Music Technology course at Herefordshire College and has since gone on to run his own recording studio. His projects include working with bands and artists (Kinstrife, Frankie Wesson, The Kilpecks to name a few), working on feature film projects (Derelict – 2023, Hollow – 2021), and many voice-over projects including projects used by Paul Whitehouse, ChipsAway and the United Nations. Over the years Ryan has had many students engage in work experience through his studio, and through this he has found enjoyment in teaching and has returned to Herefordshire College alongside his existing work in the industry.
