About the course

You will be developing your crochet skills, learning new stitch combinations like corner-to-corner crochet and special stitches such as puff, popcorn and cluster stitches. You will learn to read crochet patterns and charts and how to change colours when crocheting. You will also develop skills in crochet toy making (amigurumi).

Course content:

  • Special stitches – puff, cluster, bobble, popcorn

  • C2C – corner-to-corner crochet (how increase and decrease)

  • Changing colour at the end of rows and in the middle of rows/rounds

  • Pattern reading skills – how to read written patterns and charts.

  • Amigurumi next steps – working into front and back loops.

  • Standing stitches

You will need to bring:

A 5 mm crochet hook and DK (double knit) yarn, a couple of stitch markers and scissors to your first lesson. Later you will need more yarn, 3.5 mm crochet hook, a tapestry needle and safety eyes for amigurumi toys.

The Tutor will supply all the patterns and toy stuffing.
