I look back at my time at Holme Lacy with fond memories. My enrolment followed a rough and turbulent patch, and was very much the beginning of a new phase of my life.
I was helped massively by the fantastic tutors at Holme Lacy; Alys, Bryony, Emma, and more, all helped me to settle into this new environment. I studied a Level 2 in Agriculture; I learned about how to operate tractors, how to handle livestock, maintain fencing, and how to behave and act safely in dangerous agricultural environments.
My time at Holme Lacy taught me the value of hard work, confidence, teamwork, and how those values and skills can help your future. I’m now in my third year at the Royal Agricultural University studying BSc (hons) Agriculture. I’ve also been fortunate to have met Kaleb Cooper for his bursary, and I’ve been published in the Young Farmer’s Focus piece in the Farmer’s Guardian.
If I were to give advice to anyone looking to study at Holme Lacy, I would say to not limit yourself, your time here can absolutely take you wherever you want to go in life, this is the foundation!
