After completing her course in 2025, Hannah progressed to Wrexham University, where she is now studying Mental Health Nursing and has successfully completed her first year.

“It has helped me become more confident within myself, as I thought I was never going to go to university.”

With two children, she planned her studies around her family routine and used her time effectively.
“As long as I stuck to the work and made time for my studies, it was fine. There was enough time to do assignments if you keep on track with everything. I did my work when my two children were asleep.”

Continuing her journey into Mental Health Nursing
After completing her Access to HE Nursing course at North Shropshire College, Hannah achieved her goal of progressing to university.
She is now studying Mental Health Nursing at Wrexham University and has completed her first year of the course.
Her next goal is to continue developing her skills and knowledge as she works towards a rewarding career in healthcare.
Hannah’s advice for future students

“Do it, and stick to it! Do not wait until tomorrow to apply — it opens up so many opportunities.”
Looking back, Hannah would tell herself to believe in her abilities and not worry about the challenges ahead.
“I did really well on my Access course. Get a laptop — you need one. Concentrate on what you want to achieve.”
