This occupation is found in the hair and beauty sector. The Barbershop work environment is always client facing, can be varied in size, style and ambiance, from a small micro barbershop, to franchises or large high street premises.

Apprentices could move into more senior roles within their employer
An employee in this occupation will be responsible for demonstrating industry standards of professionalism, values, behaviours, communication skills, team work, retail and selling skills for clients. They will also be able to complete a range of barbering services to create a variety of looks.
The programme is a mixture of classroom knowledge delivery (at one of our on-site training salons) and workplace skills assessment.
At the completion of all on programme learning all apprentices will complete and End Point Assessment and for this standard that will involve a Knowledge Test, Practical Assessment and Professional Discussion underpinned by a Portfolio.
• Suitable employment on or prior to starting the apprenticeship training programme.
• An appropriate level of maths and English (assessed prior to apprenticeship start)
• Apprentices without English or maths (at Level 2 for a Level 3 Apprenticeship or Level 1 for a Level 2 Apprenticeship) must achieve this prior to taking the End Point Assessment).
• We can support you to achieve the desired level of maths and English, through functional skills taught sessions which are mandatory to attend as part of your programme (you cannot achieve your apprenticeship without the required level of maths and English).
