About the course

This is a combination course. This course is part of the Media pathway, which also includes the Film Studies course.

Designed to provide you with the knowledge, skills and understanding necessary to progress to higher-level study and employment in the media sector, this course encourages you to explore, develop and test your creativity whilst learning the necessary theory to compliment your studies.

Exploring both the practical and theoretical aspects of creative media, you will be using professional hardware and software, including our DSLR cameras and editing suite with all of the latest Adobe applications, including Premiere Pro, After Effects and Photoshop.

These resources will support you in developing a portfolio of digital image and film work which supports your progression into industry or higher education.

UAL Level 3 Extended Diploma in Creative Media Production and Technology.

Assessment methods

Assessment for the course is primarily based on your portfolio of work, built throughout each year as you learn and develop technical and creative skills across a range of media disciplines. In each year you will complete a final major project (unit 8 and 13), which is assessed by both internal and external moderators. Your final grades are determined by the quality of your coursework, with no exams forming part of the qualification.

Entry requirements

A minimum of five GCSEs at grade 4, including English and/or Maths.

Successful completion of a relevant level 2 qualification with a merit grade and good progress within English and Maths.
