This 2-year course is designed to provide you with the knowledge, skills and understanding necessary to progress to higher-level study and employment in the media sector, it encourages you to explore, develop and test your creativity whilst learning the necessary theory to compliment your studies.
Exploring both the practical and theoretical aspects of creative media, you will be using professional hardware and software, including our DSLR cameras and editing suite with all of the latest Adobe applications, including Premiere Pro, After Effects and Photoshop.
These resources will support you in developing a portfolio of digital image and film work which supports your progression into industry or higher education.

Many of our students go to university to continue developing their skills in media. Some have begun their own businesses in areas such as tattooing and social media marketing. Others have gone on to create successful YouTube channels. There are even opportunities to find an apprenticeship or a trainee role in companies such as the BBC.

Assessment for the course is primarily based on your portfolio of work, built throughout each year as you learn and develop technical and creative skills across a range of media disciplines. In each year you will complete a final major project (unit 8 and 13), which is assessed by both internal and external moderators. Your final grades are determined by the quality of your coursework, with no exams forming part of the qualification.
A minimum of five GCSEs at grade 4, including English and/or Maths.
