About the course

This three-day short course is intended for beginners who have a keen interest in any form of fabrication.

During the course, you will learn:

  • How to measure, mark out and cut materials and use the required equipment.

  • Gain experience on all hand tools and machinery in the workshop, including: an up-to-date plasma table and hand plasma; guillotine; pillar drills; bandsaws; box pan folders; rollers; grinders; sanders and cutting disks.

  • Fixing and joining methods such as bolts, rivets, pilot holes, tap and dyes and spot welding.

  • Safe working practices and health and safety procedures.

At the end of the course, you will get to take home two small projects you have fabricated and then, if you wish, progress onto other short courses such as welding.
