If you’re a dedicated film viewer who wants to understand how film functions as an art form, then this is the course for you. You will develop skills of analysis by exploring a wide range of mainstream and independent American and British films, as well as significant examples of world cinema. Emphasis is placed upon visual storytelling and technical film language, and you will have the opportunity to put your ideas and knowledge in these areas of study into practice by making your own short film.
Progression routes may include a degree in Film or Media, or a wide range of art and social science subjects.
Employment options may include various careers in the film industry as well as broadcasting, journalism, media production and marketing.
