About the course

This course covers the basic training requirements of the Approved Code of Practice for Rider-Operated Lift Trucks. It will provide the candidate with the knowledge, understanding and skills required to prepare and operate a forklift or telehandler.

* Pre use maintenance and safety checks

* Recognition of controls and instruments

* Operating the machine.

Assessment methods

Following the course, candidates will be assessed for NPTC Level 2 Certificate of Competence in Forklift Truck Operations. This is a practical assessment which will take place on a separate day. Tests are organised by NPTC to take place at College.
