Students at Ludlow Sixth Form College have celebrated the launch of the town’s first ever Young Enterprise company with the production of a professionally printed 2026 calendar titled Life in Ludlow.
The spiral-bound wall calendar features local images collected through a photography competition organised by the students. The winning photograph was taken by Fraser Morris, aged 17.
The calendar marks a significant milestone for the student-run Young Enterprise company, Ludlow Cards & Gifts, which operates in accordance with the regulations of the nationally recognised Young Enterprise charity.
Commenting on the business launch, Kian Jennings, Managing Director of the company, said:
“We’re local students who want to learn about business by doing it, not just reading about it, and we want to help local charities while we do this.”
The project was initially funded through student-led fundraising activities. Peter Gray, Teacher of Economics & Business Studies at Ludlow Sixth Form College, confirmed that the business has continued to grow since its launch.
He said:
“Students will donate at least 10% of every sale to local charities such as the foodbank, so as well as receiving a limited edition calendar you’re also supporting local charities when you buy it.”
The Life in Ludlow calendar is priced at £10 and will be available from 22 December. Customers can reserve copies by emailing p.gray@hlnsc.ac.uk or by leaving a phone message or text stating the quantity required to 07956 222999. Orders will be invoiced, with customers able to collect their calendars from a choice of local businesses and charities.
