What you could do next

Learners progress onto Award in Severing Uprooted or Windblown Trees. This course is not run on a regular basis at the College, but can be arranged for groups of up to four people.

Assessment methods

Unlike other chainsaw certificates there is no independent assessment. Learners will be assessed at various intervals by the trainer for the NPTC Award in Felling and Processing Trees Over 380mm Diameter. This is a practical assessment with some verbal questioning.

Entry requirements

Candidates must have achieved the Level 2 Award in Chainsaw Maintenance and Cross Cutting, and Felling and Processing Trees up to 380mm.
