Last week, Prime Minister Rishi Sunak announced a major package of reforms to Apprenticeships, supporting young people and small businesses across the UK.
Fully funded apprenticeship training in small businesses from 1st April for anyone up to the age of 21
From 1st April 2024, the government will fully fund all apprenticeships for SMEs for anyone up to the age of 21. Apprenticeship levy-paying employers will also benefit from increased funding and be able to transfer up to 50% of their funds to support other businesses. This move will create 20,000 more apprenticeships for young people and SMEs.
£60 million of new government funding for Apprenticeships next year
Under the new plans, an additional £60million of government funding will be allocated for apprenticeship training next year. Guaranteeing demand for apprenticeships from businesses and ensuring there is enough funding to deliver them.
