About the course

This is an interactive course designed for those who want to learn initial counselling skills to help others, either in a voluntary or employed situation. It is also for those who want to learn more about the counselling profession: This course won’t teach you to be a counsellor, but may help you decide whether or not you want to train as one. The course utilises a variety of training methods in order to equip people with basic listening and responding skills that they can use in everyday life.

The course aims to provide students with an understanding of the counselling process and some of the practical skills needed to provide support to others.
