You will be guided through how to do various crochet stitches and develop your crochet skills and techniques. You will learn to read patterns and create a variety of small items to take home, such as a granny square bag, mini mandala and baby owl.
Course Content:
The stitches: slip knot, chain, slip stitch, single crochet, half double crochet, double crochet, treble crochet and magic circle
How to work in rows, rounds and in a continuous round
How to read crochet patterns and the difference between UK and US terminology
Increasing and decreasing stitches
Amigurumi (making crochet toys)
You will need to bring:
A 5mm crochet hook to your first lesson (later on you will also need a 4mm hook)
Scissors
During the first lesson you will be able to try out different hooks, if you wish, before you buy your own hook. There are many different quality and priced hooks available, and you would need one suitable for your crochet technique. If you already have a preferred hook, please bring it with you. The tutor will supply yarn, stitch markers and tapestry needles.

There are no entry requirements because this course is aimed at complete beginners. There may sometimes be learners who have a little experience, however, the focus will be on supporting beginners.
