This charge identified is applicable to learners aged 16-18 who qualify for funding. Learners aged 19+ will have to pay this charge and possibly tuition and exam fees. If you’re a dedicated film viewer who wants to understand how film functions as an art form, then this is the course for you. You will develop skills of analysis by exploring a wide range of mainstream and independent American and British film, as well as significant examples of world cinema. Emphasis is placed upon visual storytelling and technical film language, and you will have the opportunity to put your ideas and knowledge in these areas of study into practice by making your own short film.
You may progress to university and study a degree in Film or Media, or a wide range of art and social science subjects. The course can lead to various careers in the film industry as well as broadcasting, journalism, media production and marketing.
