This charge identified is applicable to learners aged 16-18 who qualify for funding. Learners aged 19+ will have to pay this charge and possibly tuition and exam fees. The Stepping Stones programme is designed to provide a transition year between school and college,
providing students with an opportunity to re-engage with education, build their confidence and resilience and
adjust to a college environment, with the aim of them successfully re-joining mainstream full-time education
in the following academic year.
College Certificated + Maths and English qualifications
Students to be given a College “passport to progression” certificate at the end of the course (in addition to
any maths/English and other quals achieved along the way), based on minimum 80% attendance and
acceptable behaviours.
Progression to a mainstream full-time Study Programme the following academic year, based on meeting the
relevant entry criteria.
Coursework and examination for maths and English. Attendance & Behaviours for Personal Development.
Students/applicants referred to Stepping Stones via external agencies, SEND panel or following CPSA
intervention.
