Delivered by highly skilled and experienced tutors in our specialist workshops, this course aims to introduce the key skills and knowledge required to make bespoke furniture. Content to include: marking out, hand tool techniques (saws chisels, planes, etc.) tool sharpening, the safe use of workshop aids, common woodworking joints (half-lap, deovetail, mortice and tenon, etc.), veneering/ inlay work, and finishing techniques.
You may choose to enrol on the intermediate furniture making short course or on a part-time furniture making course at this college.

No formal entry requirements although an interest in furniture and furniture making is important.
