Attendees will spend their first two days gaining a practical understanding of foundation teaching and assessment techniques relevant to the training of Apprentice Farriers. With the third day dedicated to supporting attendees deliver a 20 Minute ‘Micro Teach’ session, provide feedback on the sessions delivered by their peers, and finalise a ‘Portfolio of Evidence’. This is not as daunting as might first appear, with the course well supported by friendly and experienced Tutors delivering a TTFA course tailored towards the needs of training Farriers. Previous attendees have worked hard to support each other as part of a team and have reflected that the course is both rewarding and enjoyable.

Assessment for this qualification is delivered through the assessment of a ‘Portfolio of Evidence’, with the Tutors supporting attendees to gather a variety of evidence during the 3 day course and within the working environment between days 2 and 3; including assessment of a 20 Minute ‘Micro Teach’ session observed by course Tutors and attendees.

Attendees will be provided with a ‘Course Folder’, lunch and regular refreshments. Whilst a lap top, smart phone or tablet can be useful, attendees only need to bring a pen, a desire to learn and themselves.
