There have been some amazing things happening in Blacksmithing and Farriery.
Holme Lacy College staff Adam Greenwell and Josh Masey competed as a pair in the British Farriers and Blacksmith Team Competition at Stoneleigh Park forging a ‘swingle tree’ and they WON! There were several different countries competing along with other UK pairings, and we couldn’t be prouder to announce that they are the international champions for 2023!
Adam and Josh also recently attended the Worshipful Company of Blacksmiths award luncheon in London where Adam received ‘Overall National Champion Blacksmith 2023’ and Josh received two awards, his Diploma of Merit AWCB for ‘work of distinction in the craft of Blacksmith’ and ‘The National Reserve Live Champion Blacksmith 2023.’
Also at the Worshipful Company of Blacksmiths award luncheon, our talented students Toby Smith and Rowan Lickerish picked up accolades. Toby achieved the Frank Day Trophy for his chess set that he produced during his Level 2 course and Rowan received the Stanley Allcard Cup in recognition of demonstrating outstanding potential through the journey of his course. He received this for his BA hons Artistic Blacksmithing work.
