0.9 Lecturer in Hairdressing (Maternity Cover)

We are seeking to appoint a 0.9 Hairdressing Lecturer to teach a range of theory and practical skills within the hairdressing sector, being able to cover all skill sets covered on a Level 1, 2 and 3 hairdressing qualification. As part of this role, you will be expected to carry out administrative processes such as preparation of work, marking and assessment documentation.  Supporting the running of a professional salon/learning environment. This role will allow you to deliver exciting and interactive teaching, learning and assessment whilst ensuring we provide an outstanding experience for all learners.  

Hairdressing is a growing area of provision at the college and has student numbers have increased over the last number of years. Provision within the department supports learners from aged 16 to adult on qualifications at level 1 and above. We have a range of effective and innovative employer links across the region who support our students by offering industry placements, workplace visits and guest speaking.  

The ideal candidate will already have a recognised teaching qualification at L5 or above or be willing to work towards this qualification. The college can support unqualified applicants to pursue a relevant and appropriate teaching qualification. You’ll have relevant experience of working within the beauty sector and a strong awareness of current developments in the field and be able to combine this with an ability to inspire others.
