About the course

This course is for anyone with the desire to express their creativity through story writing.

Through teaching, discussion and practice you will gain an understanding of what is required to create your own work. You will learn about:

  • Developing ideas

  • Developing characters

  • Story structure

  • The re-drafting process

  • Crafting prose

  • Writing techniques

  • Dialogue

  • How to get published

Materials needed: A notepad and pen.

Dr Richard Wood is an author and academic in the field of Creative Writing. He has written over forty books and has maintained a successful career writing and marketing his own novels. His qualifications include BA Scriptwriting, MA Creative Writing and PhD Literary and Critical Studies. He has also taught Creative Writing to MA level as well as supervising students completing their MA thesis.
