Herefordshire Ludlow and North Shropshire College’s Low Carbon Technology Training Centre has been shortlisted in two categories at the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) Awards 2026: Refurbishment and Revitalisation and Heritage, for the West Midlands region.
The RICS Awards recognise outstanding construction, regeneration and sustainability projects across the UK that demonstrate innovation, quality and positive impact. Being shortlisted in both categories highlights the exceptional standard of the Low Carbon Technology Training Centre, recognising not only its modernisation and sustainability credentials but also the reuse of existing buildings.
Designed by YNGR Design Ltd, the Low Carbon Technology Training Centre represents a major investment by the college in sustainable education and skills development. The project has successfully transformed existing facilities into a modern training environment, supporting the development of low carbon technologies and green skills aligned with national net zero ambitions.
David Williams, Principal & CEO at Herefordshire Ludlow and North Shropshire College said
“We are very pleased to see Holme Lacy College’s Low Carbon Technology Training Centre shortlisted by RICS in both categories. The recognition reflects the quality of the build and the collective efforts of everyone involved in delivering a highly sustainable and forward looking learning facility”.
Winners will be announced later this year as part of the regional RICS Awards programme, with successful regional projects progressing to the national finals.
