This charge identified is applicable to learners aged 16-18 who qualify for funding. Learners aged 19+ will have to pay this charge and possibly tuition and exam fees. The purpose of this qualification is to develop the transferable skills, attributes and behaviours needed for learners to progress to further study and ultimately to employment. The qualification is designed to be delivered in an applied way, bringing together appropriate content with practical and technical skills. All learners taking this qualification will study core units that focus on key transferable skills such as research and planning, time management and working with others. Learners will also take a number of Construction units. The content of the Construction units offers a broad introduction to the skills and knowledge within that sector allowing the delivery to be practical and active in order to engage the learners.
Further learning at a higher level in construction or related sector. Further qualification in brickwork, carpentry, building maintenance or plumbing.
