Welcome to the Low Carbon Technology Training Centre (LCTTC)
Herefordshire, Ludlow, and North Shropshire College (HLNSC) are thrilled to announce the opening of our cutting-edge training facility dedicated to renewable technology – the Low Carbon Technology Training Centre (LCTTC). Nestled within the scenic surroundings of our Holme Lacy College, this state-of-the-art centre is set to make a significant impact in advancing the adoption of sustainable energy solutions in our region.
Empowering Local Sustainability
Our primary mission at the LCTTC is to support local businesses, the construction industry, and homeowners by providing comprehensive training for professionals and enthusiasts alike. Our courses are designed to equip individuals with the skills and knowledge needed to install a wide range of green energy solutions.
In today’s world, the importance of transitioning to cleaner, more sustainable technologies is paramount, and the LCTTC is here to lead the way.
Comprehensive Training Programs
At the LCTTC, we’re dedicated to helping you embrace the future of renewable technology. Our training opportunities will initially focus on heat pumps and Solar PV installation. However, we’re excited to share that our long-term plans include expansion into areas such as battery storage, EV charging and retrofit solutions. This will enable our trainees to stay at the forefront of the industry’s ever-evolving landscape.
Meeting the Challenge
As the world strives for a greener, more sustainable future, it’s clear that a skilled workforce is a necessity. The United Kingdom’s Net Zero target underscores the importance of equipping individuals with the right skill set. To meet this challenge, we are committed to both upskilling our current industry professionals and revising our curriculum to ensure that aspiring young tradespeople have access to the latest knowledge and techniques.
What Our Courses Offer
Examples of our courses include our Solar PV installer course which is designed to provide the skills, knowledge, and competency needed to design, install, commission, and maintain Solar PV systems.
The College also intends to offer subsidised Air Source Heat Pump training in the near future.
When the LCTTC is fully operational, our courses are expected to span three days, covering: –
· Comprehensive theory and practical elements, to be examined at our brand new LCTTC in Holme Lacy, Herefordshire. –
· Hands-on experience with purpose-built training rigs, featuring a range of inverters, modules and other industry-standard equipment.
· Evaluation through an open-book exam to ensure a successful completion of the training.
