Skills Bootcamps are flexible training courses for adults aged 19 and over. Herefordshire Ludlow and North Shropshire College’s Skills Bootcamps help develop skills employers are looking for. They’re a great opportunity to train in a new industry or progress in your current career.
The college has been helping people into employment or upskilling those already in the workforce, which has led to successful job placements and career growth.

The college’s skills bootcamps provision is as follows:
Leadership and Management
Delivered remotely over eight weeks (one day per week), the Skills Bootcamp in Leadership and Management is aimed at preparing participants for a more senior role. Participants develop skills, confidence and competence using a variety of work-based leadership and management scenarios, with topics ranging from managing change, managing conflict, and principles of leadership practice, to name a few.
The college’s tutor, Chris Gray shared “As a tutor, I’ve seen firsthand how this course transforms participants’ skills and confidence. It’s rewarding to watch students apply what they’ve learned in real-world settings and advance in their careers as a result”.
The Skills Bootcamp in Leadership and Management at Herefordshire Ludlow and North Shropshire College has proven to be effective. Participants have found the course content to be directly applicable to their roles, equipping them with the skills needed to take on greater responsibilities.

Health
Delivered in person, face to face at Herefordshire College, the two-week Health Skills Bootcamp prepares individuals for entry onto either the Nursing Associate or Assistant healthcare Practitioner apprenticeship, and through a variety of practical and theory-based sessions,
individuals cover the fundamentals of becoming a healthcare worker including the 15 required standards for the Care Certificate. On the last day participants have guaranteed interviews with employers looking to recruit in the sector.

Early Years
Delivered in person, face to face at Herefordshire College, the two-week Early Years Skills Bootcamp is a flexible and practice-based course based at Herefordshire Campus, aimed at those considering entering the educational sector. The course is approximately two weeks in length and fully funded for the participant, preparing individuals to work in schools covering subjects such as safeguarding, communicating with children, young people and adults, and how to keep young people healthy, safe and well. On the last day participants have guaranteed interviews with employers looking to recruit in the sector.
