Testimonial – Fi Bartlett

Fi Barlett

Fi Barlett completed her Early Years Skills Bootcamp at Herefordshire College earlier this year and is now in employment and working towards completing her apprenticeship in Sports and Coaching. Fi said “I always wanted to work with children and love sport but didn’t know where to start. Doing this course has opened my options and made me realise the passion I have for teaching, and that I can incorporate my favourite hobby, which is great!”.

Skills Bootcamps are designed to develop skills that employers are looking for. They offer an excellent opportunity to train in a new industry or advance in a current career.

Fiorella chose the Skills Bootcamp to train in a new sector and wished to make the move to education and teaching. The Herefordshire College course is a flexible and practice-based course is aimed at those considering entering the educational sector. The course prepares individuals to work in schools, covering subjects such as safeguarding, communicating with children, young people and adults, and how to keep young people healthy, safe, and well. Fiorella completed her course in two weeks.

Fiorella shared “My Skills Bootcamp not only reinforced my existing knowledge but also introduced me to new concepts, boosting my confidence significantly. I felt more self-assured when attending interviews, which helped me assess whether I truly wanted to pursue a career in the education sector”.
